Access Granted: Online Login Now Fully Operational - Issue Resolved

Many Origin users have recently experienced an error while trying to log in Origin. What happens is an error message pops up that says “Online login is currently unavailable “.

If this is happening to you, you’re no doubt very frustrated, but the good news is you should be able to fix it quite easily. We’ve put together some fixes for you to try…

Try these fixes

You may not have to try them all; just work your way down the list until you find the one that works for you.

  1. Restart Origin completely
  2. Check your system date and time
  3. Update your device drivers
  4. Reset your Internet Explorer settings
  5. Disable your USB device

Fix 1: Restart Origin completely

This is the first thing you should try when you’re experiencing the “login unavailable” error. Just restart Origin completely:

  2. Open Origin and try logging in your account.

If this fixes your Origin error, great! But if not, move on to Fix 2.

Fix 2: Check your system date and time

The wrong date or time can cause the “online login is currently unavailable” error. You should check the date and time on your computer. If they’re not right, follow the instructions below to correct them:

  1. Press theWindows logo key on your keyboard, then type “control”.
  2. ClickControl Panel in the results.
  3. Click theView by drop-down menu, and then selectCategory .
  4. ClickClock and Region . Software Update Pro - Check and update software installed on your computer.
  5. ClickSet the time and date .
  6. Select theInternet Time tab, then clickChange settings .
  7. ClickYes if you’re prompted.
  8. CheckSynchronize with an Internet time server , then clickUpdate now .
  9. ClickOK .
  10. ClickOK .

Now the date and time on your computer is in sync with an Internet time server. Try logging in Origin and see if the error is gone. Hopefully it is. But if not, then try Fix 3, below.

Fix 3: Update your device drivers

Perhaps you’re experiencing the Origin error because you’re using awrong or outdated device driver . You should update your drivers and see if this fixes your error.

There are two ways you can try to update your drivers: manually or automatically…

Download and install your drivers manually – You can update your drivers manually by going to the hardware manufacturers’ websites, and searching for the latest drivers for your devices. But if you take this approach, be sure to choose the driver that’s compatible with the exact model number of your hardware, and your version of Windows.

or

Download and install your drivers automatically – If you don’t have the time, patience or computer skills to update your drivers manually, you can, instead, do it automatically with Driver Easy . You don’t need to know exactly what system your computer is running, you don’t need to risk downloading and installing the wrong driver, and you don’t need to worry about making a mistake when installing. Driver Easy handles it all.

  1. Download and install Driver Easy .
  2. Run Driver Easy and click the Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.
  3. Click the Update button next to your device to download the correct version of its driver, then you can manually install it. Or click the Update All button at the bottom right to automatically update all the drivers. (This requires the Pro version — you will be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All. You get full support and a 30-day money back guarantee.)

You can do it for free if you like, but it’s partly manual.

  2. ClickControl Panel in the results.

Now restart your computer and check to see if this fixed your Origin error.

Fix 5: Disable your USB device

Perhaps your Origin program is having some issue with one of your USB device (Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader in particular). You can try disabling it and see if this fixes your “Online login is currently unavailable” error.

  1. Press theWindows logo key andR on your keyboard at the same time to invoke the Run box.
  2. Type “devmgmt.msc” and pressEnter on your keyboard.
  3. Double clickUniversal Serial Bus controller , then right click Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader and select Disable device.
